Published Survey Post

Here is the link to my public survey document I created on google docs using their new addition to the forms section:

For some reason, I cannot insert this as an actual link. Please copy and paste this link into your browser in order to see the survey I created.

I did not use any other websites besides google docs. I created the survey for my 4th and 5th grade elementary students to find out their interests in order to make class more interestin. This also helped in creating a more relevant learning experience for the students.

Rubistar Assessment

Here is the link to my public rubistar assessment: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tSmLsEk0IMadLtjlZSiweMA&single=true&gid=0&output=html
I used Rubistart.com to help make a rubic to assess my special education elementary students in the 4th and 5th grade and their brochures. The point of the brochure was for the students to gain factual knowledge through research about volcanos along with the ability to correctly export an image from the Internet and import that same image into a word document.

Visual Ranking

With this visual ranking I would like students to recognize numbers in word form, from a word list and write them in order. This is the link to the student log in:http://http//educate.intel.com/workspace/teacher/ProjectListing.aspx

My ID is awcochran@gmail.com
password for team wolfpack is:1111
password for team kitty cat is: 2222

This use of technology with differintiated instruction for students with special needs is helpful for assigning homework without losing track of papers or forgetting them at home. This is also a useful tool for integrating technology within the classroom and having students work together in groups.

Podcast

Downloading audacity and figuring up a script was the simple part of this project. Figuring out how to save the project appropriately and post it in my blog was a whole other story.

In creating the project, I mimicked a lot from the student audio clip to help me out considering this was my first time. Then, once I save the file as I was told and attempted to upload to Podbean - something went wrong. I hit up the discussion board and found that a lot of students had the same problem and suggested using FTP on the Fairmont site to aid in saving and uploading.

Prezi

http://prezi.com/4uv4dwcczk0w/ You can click the link above and view my prezi presenation online. I used the website: http://www.prezi.com to create my presentation.
I felt that this program was different from PowerPoint because you have more flexiblity. You do not have to go forward or backward. You can move around - zoom in - zoom out - move all around. I really liked how it felt interactive and entertaining.
I felt the program was the same as PowerPoint because you still created "slides" you just did it all on one canvas and make it easier on yourself to navigate your presentation.
I really do not think there are any disadvantages to using Prezi. This could be because I am like a kid with a new present at Christmas and maybe the newness will wear off soon but right now, I really like this presentation format.
My ISTE NETS T is 2a and I believe it hits this standard PERFECTLY. This is a new interactive design tool to help teach new material in a fun and interesting way to keep student's attention.

On a side note, the zebra tool was not difficult to use at all. It really helped out a lot and was a tool that cut down the amount of clicks you would normally have to use in PPT to resize, move, rotate, etc. It was all-in-one.
